Other responses to the CCC platform
I have already said what I need to say about the CCC’s platform on copyright, so I’m not going to respond directly to these posts:
- Michael Geist (of course), and John Degen’s response
- Mathew Ingram
- Comments over at Digital Copyright Canada

I hope you are reading the discussion happening on John’s BLOG. I’m participating there, explaining how this platform will have the “unintended consequence” of wiping out the form of creativity I participate in in Canada.
It is important to realize that some of the members of CCC represent business model options for creators, not creators themselves, and that some of the platform is targeted not at copyright infringers but creators using competing methods of production, distribution and funding.
I will at some point write a response to the entire platform. It will be long as the number of recommendations I can agree with as an independent creator and volunteer ISP are extremely few.
I’ve been out of town all day, so it’ll take some time for me to catch up to all the comments on John’s and others’ blogs!
I’m looking forward to your more thorough review. I suspect you’ll be able to show us (creators who don’t work in software, for lack of a concise term) a whole other side of implications we didn’t even know to consider.
